Ingredients: Infusion of (Water, Black Tea, Black Pepper, Ginger, Cardamom, Cinnamon, Cloves, Star Anise, Natural Flavors), Cane Sugar, Honey, Ginger Juice, Natural Flavors, Vanilla Extract, Citric Acid.
Attributes: Kosher certified, Non-dairy.
Format: Liquid concentrate 1:1
Preparation: Shake carton, mix 4oz chai concentrate with 4oz milk or milk substitute.
Additional information: The tea buyers at Tazo take regular trips to the various countries of origin to taste and select the finest-quality tea and botanicals available. Unlike other large tea companies that use pre-blended teas sourced at origin, Tazo buys only unblended teas. This allows us to acquire tea at its peak of freshness and to exercise greater control over the quality of the final blend.
TASTE-O-METER Rating:
"Tazo Chai latte is the brand served at Starbucks. Well, at least it used to be.... who knows what goes on behind that green goddess logo?? In any case, this is a relatively thin and sweet chai latte. The closest comparison concentrate might be Oregon Original Chai, but where Oregon evokes a noticeable honey flavor, Tazo does not (strange, given that honey is included in the ingredients list). Also, I'd say that the Tazo Classic Chai has just a tad more spice than Oregon Original. But it seems to present a "thin" sort of bite that dissipates quickly."
